Probiotics have been in the news for quite some time now and they seemed like they might be the way for me to go on my journey to a healther, happier life. I had already started exploring diet and exercise, but there was something missing. I decided I wanted to explore the option of probiotic supplements and I’ve decided to share my experiences for anyone considering taking the same path.

The most important first step in considering supplements of any sort is solid research. I wanted to know what probiotics really were and what benefits they might offer me. I learned probiotics are micro organisms that actually provide a wide array of health benefits I hadn’t even considered. As someone who often suffers problems with dairy, I was most interested in the benefits for people with lactose intolerance or problems digesting dairy. Other health benefits may appeal to you depending on your personal needs.

Because making a significant lifestyle change can greatly affect every area of your life, my decision to start living healthier was something I had already been discussing with my doctor. After doing my research into probiotic supplements and finding out all the potential benefits, I ran the idea by my doctor to see if there were any risks.
Probiotics supplements are generally very safe, but it’s a good idea to make sure.

There are many different strains of probiotics and they all focus on different things. A good option for someone looking for overall better health as I was, may want to choose a multi-probiotic supplement.
The Results — A Better Probiotic Life!
Although the effects were not outwardly apparent in general, my mood improved right away and I actually felt better. I get sick less often and when I do happen to catch a cold, the symptoms are much more mild and the duration of the cold is much shorter.
Overall, I would recommend probiotic supplements to anyone looking to feel better and live a healthier life. I have had no negative side-effects and perhaps the biggest change is since taking probiotic supplements, I am able to enjoy ice cream again (!!!) without worrying about bloating and stomach cramps. This alone is more than worth it for me.
