Needless to say, as skeptical as I was originally, I really love Bowtrol Probiotic and I foresee myself using it for a long time. In fact, I honestly believe that Bowtrol Probiotic is so effective that its going to become a leading, long-term digestive health solution, much like Proactive Skin Care for skin health. Actually, now that my 3 month supply is up, I just re-ordered 4 more bottles and I got 2 bottles free with this special promotion!

If you’re still a bit skeptical about whether or not Bowtrol Probiotic is right for you, read on for an in depth look into my experience with it over the past 12 weeks.

My Lifelong Struggle with Constipation (Before Bowtrol)

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that my dad, William McKey, tragically died of colon cancer in March 2008. Growing up, digestive problems were always common in my large Irish family, but I never thought anything of them besides the occasional embarrassing situation until they took my dad. I remember looking at my 3 children upset, confused, saying goodbye to grampa for the last time and, through my tears, I made a promise to god and myself that I would be around for my kids for a very, very long time. Moreso, like my father, I’ve suffered from chronic constipation for as long as I can remember and I didn’t want to live in pain and discomfort like my father had for years, so I took it upon myself to get educated about digestive health.

Over the following year, I tried everything. I began reading lots of books, talking to “healthy people,” visiting health food stores, etc. I tried all kinds of supplements, hocus-pocus snake-oil scams, etc., but nothing worked.

I was still constipated, only able to go to the bathroom 2–4 times a week.

I finally decided to take visit a proper nutritionist (not cheap!) who recommended I start eating more foods with probiotics, such as yogurt and kefir. In retrospect, I don’t think those foods actually helped my regularity at all, but I thought they were yummy, which was enough to ignite my interest in probiotic supplements. I went to my local, fantsy-pants health food store and asked them what was the best probiotic supplement they had.

I was pleasantly surprised that I no longer got severely constipated (4 days), but I wasn’t quite regular either, so I went searching for the best probiotics. Eventually, I ran into an old friend who I hadn’t seen in years (Hi Janet!), and I told her about what had happened to my father. To my shock, since I’d last seen her, Janet has survived colon cancer herself! As she was telling me her story, she mentioned a product that she still takes now that her cancer treatment is over, Bowtrol Probiotic. She gave it a raving recommendation and showed me where I could buy it online at a discount.

As great as it sounded, I felt nervous about buying Bowtrol online, but after checking out the webpage and doing some more research, I felt very confident about trying out Bowtrol Probiotic. Here’s why–

Why I Chose Bowtrol Probiotic

The prospect of buying supplements online made me uncomfortable. Prior to Janet’s recommendation of Bowtrol Probiotic, I’d simply never done it. Regardless, Janet’s recommendation was strong enough for me to go do some extra research. Here’s what I found–

  • Reputable Company

The first thing I discovered is that Bowtrol Probiotic is made by the same reputable company as the extremely popular ad reputable Bowtrol Colon Cleanse (here’s a free trial if you’re interested). So I realized this wasn’t just some no name company.

Now here’s something you don’t see at the the fancy health food stores! This was the deal breaker for me. How could I go wrong if, worst case scenario, I’d get all my money back? And if that wasn’t enough–

  • Great Customer Service!

One of the things I absolutely hate about ordering online is that there’s nobody to talk to if something goes wrong. I actually was having trouble with my credit card and I sent them an email and heard back almost immediately.

  • MUCH Cheaper than Store Bought Supplements

It’s no secret to anybody that health food stores are expensive. They primarily target wealthy families, and frankly, I usually can’t afford their products. I was happy to find that I could buy Bowtrol Probiotic for 30%-40% less than store bought Probiotic Supplement prices.

Changes I Observed Over the 12 Week Bowtrol Probiotic Trial

Bowtrol Probiotic is primarily supposed to digestive regularity, but to my huge surprise, I found that this was only a fraction of the benefits.

  • Digestive Regularity

This is REALLY exciting for me! My entire life, I have suffered from painful, humiliating constipation. At the beginning of my 12 week trial, I had a bowel movement every 2–4 days. For the first time in my life, I have daily regularity. Both my parents suffered from constipation their entire lives, and unfortunately that resulted in colon cancer, which took my dad’s life. I’ve gotten my mom (59 years old) on Bowtrol Probiotic and she LOVES it (scroll down to read her opinion below)

Fortunately, unlike my previous probiotic supplements, Bowtrol doesn’t cause gas, which has really been helping my social life ;)

  • I lost 10 pounds!

This I’m pretty shocked about. Nowhere on any of the promotional material for Bowtrol Probiotic does it promise weight loss, but it happened! My diet has remained pretty consistent. I do my best to cook healthy for the kids, but we have the occasional rice-crispies treats night :) . I haven’t begun any kind of exercise program, just my regular periodic walks, so I really think it is the Bowtrol Probiotic. I’m still kind of in disbelief! 10 pounds!

My ex asked me if I was on some crazy diet when he came to pick up the kids last weekend. I just kept my mouth shut with a smug look on my face :)

  • Dramatically Higher Energy Levels

I discovered is that being constipated is exhausting! First of all, I was literally carrying around several pounds of extra weight at any point in time. Furthermore, it turns out that the body exerts a lot of energy containing all of that waste, so by purging it regularly, it frees up the body to use that energy for other more pleasant activites.

On top of that, the probiotic bacteria actually help me digest food my food more fully and better utilize the nutrients in it, so I’m storing less of that food as fat and using more of it for energy!

  • Better moods

With my increased energy levels, I’ve found my moods to be dramatically better. It’s so much easier to wake up in the mornings and daily chores and responsibilities are so much less of a burden.

  • Better immunity

Good probiotic supplements help the body remove toxins that we ingest in food and generally help the body rebalance its immune functions. This little “side-benefit” has probably saved me at least 2 days of being sick every month. It’s Fall now so it gets really cold in those soccer bleachers, so I’m really enjoying staying healthy while the other parents are coughing and sniffling.

  • Better Feminine Health

Sorry if this is blunt or unpleasant for the boys, but tough luck. There is a lot of “healthy bacteria” in the vaginal area that keep our lady parts healthy and balanced. For various reasons including medications, contraceptives, illness, etc., this balance can get disrupted and that’s when fun things like yeast infections happen. Bowtrol Probiotic supplement actually aids in maintaining appropriate levels of healthy bacteria down there so that yeast infections and similar problems are a thing of the past. Interestingly, I’ve found that my periods have also gotten slightly less dreadful. Certainly not a bad side benefit!

The worst thing about Bowtrol Probiotic!

I had to go shopping! Hello size 6!

Ok, so I didn’t have to go shopping, but I decided to celebrate by splurging and picking up this sexy little number:

Decided to treat myself with this sexy little number in celebration of losing 10 pounds with Bowtrol Probiotic!

My Mom’s (59 Years Old) Bowtrol Probiotic Review

Hi Suzy,

First of all, I wanted to say thank you for looking out for me after you dad passed away. Since we both had similar digestive problems when he was alive, it is a bit disconcerting to think that I may go the same way. However, over the past 4 weeks that I’ve been using Bowtrol Probiotic, I’ve been remarkably impressed with the impact its had on my regularity. Honestly, when you first told me that you were finally going to bathroom daily, I almost didn’t believe it. I thought of all those nights you cried after school because your were in discomfort, or were embarrassed because you had to stay home while your friends when out, and how it all broke my heart because there was really nothing I could do to help. We tried all of traditional approaches that my mom  passed to me, such as prunes, and spinach and all kind of strange Irish concoctions, but in the long run nothing seemed to work.

For everyone that reads this, I would like to tell you one thing, I’ve suffered from 59 years of constipation and digestive troubles, and in 59 years, absolutely nothing has helped me the way that Bowtrol Probiotic has. Everyday I wake up feeling lighter and more rejuvenated than I have in years. The difference is truly dramatic, but gentle. I was worried that Bowtrol Probiotic, like many laxatives, may make me sensitive to certain foods and cause frequent diarrhea, but the effects of Bowtrol are far more gentle on the body.

My only wish is that I would have found this 10 years earlier, and maybe your dad would still be with us today.

Just as I’ve told my other 4 children now, anybody that has a history of digestive troubles, it is with utmost sincerity that I recommend you try Bowtrol Probiotic. If you are young, don’t wait until you are my age, and if you’re a fellow senior like myself, its not too late. Its very affordable with a 100% money back guarantee, so I can afford it, even on a widows income.

Suzy, thank you again sweetheart, I can’t tell you how much this means to me. I love you very much and keep you in my prayers every night. I’m so proud of you for taking the lead and doing something that is going to help all of our family and so many of your readers.

Warmest hugs and Kisses,

Your mom — Lillian McKey 10/19/08

The *Truth* About Probiotics and Constipation

March 23rd, 2009
Constipation. Not fun. Probiotic Supplements Can Help.

Constipation. Not fun. Probiotic Supplements Can Help.

Photograph by 1Happysnapper @Flickr

Anyone that has ever suffered with constipation knows the bloating and pain that goes hand in hand with it. Although for most of us, it is only an occasional problem and the body takes care of it naturally. For me though, constipation is a chronic problem. Those people suffer with that pain and bloating on a regular basis and for many, nothing seems to work. For sufferers of chronic constipation, probiotic supplements may be the answer.

How do probiotics work?

Simply put, probiotics are micro-organisms that help to balance the good and bad bacteria in the intestines and have been shown to have wide ranging health benefits — from constipation to overall wellness. Probiotic supplements can strengthen the immune system in the human body, reducing the number of times you get a cold or the flu significantly. When you do happen to fall ill, when taking probiotics supplements, your symptoms will be less severe and you’ll get better faster.

Probiotics supplements work by using certain strains of probiotic micro-organisms to support different areas of health in the body. One of the best probiotic supplement benefits is without a doubt its use in the treatment of intestinal issues. For that reason, these supplements are invaluable to anyone who suffers from chronic constipation.

Is there any scientific evidence to back up the claim probiotics work?

Although probiotic supplements should not be used by those with compromised immune systems or by anyone with a terminal illness, there have been no side effects found in the use of probiotic supplements. For that reason, and with scientifically proven results, probiotic supplements are a great option for someone who feels they have run out of options.

With so few truly effective treatments for chronic constipation that does not involve harsh chemicals that can often times be hard on the stomach, probiotics are an effective alternative treatment. For the person that has tried everything with no results, or sometimes adverse effects, probiotic supplements may seem like another in a long line in so called miracle cures.

Numerous studies have shown that probiotics can be extremely beneficial to the human body — and most of those studies specifically refer to the intestines. Researchers have found the helpful bacteria in probiotic supplements can greatly improve digestion and prevent intestinal illness. They’ve also been shown to help prevent pancreatic cancer.

Considering the lack of side effects and science to suggest probiotics could be the solution you’re looking for, they’re at least worth giving a try. Probiotic supplements are even safe enough and gentle enough to provide relief for childen suffering from constipation. Give them a try.

How to Choose a Good Probiotic Supplement

February 10th, 2009

So many probiotic supplement choices, but which probiotics supplement is right for you?

So many probiotic supplement choices, but which probiotics supplement is right for you?

photograph by SuperFantastic @Flickr

The health benefits of taking probiotic supplements are well known and far reaching. From helping to prevent cancer to helping to boost your immune system so your body can fight illness and infection better, probiotics have benefits for everyone. With so many supplements on the market, though, it’s hard to find the best probiotic supplement for you.

Where you buy your supplement is important

Avoid any brand or supplement sold exclusively through drugstores or supermarkets. The best probiotic supplements are sold through health food stores or reputable online stores. These types of retailers are focused on healthy products and know what they’re talking about.

Supermarkets and drugstores are concerned about making money and probiotic supplements are a popular way to do that right now.

The brand you buy is important

Find a brand that specializes in supplements — health supplements. Weed out any major, over-priced brands that don’t seem to have a particular area of expertise. If the brand you are looking at has a line of energy supplements, weight loss supplements and weight gain supplements they are likely just focused on cashing in rather than making products that actually work.

My brand of choice is Bowtrol Probiotic. Use the link below to save 50% off the amazon.com price!

My Preferred Probiotic Supplement — Bowtrol Probiotic
50% off the Amazon.com Price Here!

Check the ingredient list

The longer the list of probiotic micro-organism bacteria advertised on the label or listed in the ingredients, the less likely any of those ingredients is to work. By focusing solely on being able to boast about how many strains of probiotic organism the product contains, there is less focus on making sure those organisms work well together and compliment each other.

Single-species supplements, duel-species supplements and multi-species supplements

This choice will be entirely up to you and your personal needs. The single-species is a great supplement if you have a specific ailment you need to tackle. The duel-species supplement is useful if you have a few health issues and need a more wide range supplement but aren’t quite sure you need something as broad as our third option, the multi-species supplement. The multi-species supplement is an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve over all health, but may not be as effective for targeting one single health issue.

Choosing Your Best Probiotic Supplement

Taking into account everything said above, you may still be a little confused as to which is the best choice for you. Of all of the probiotic supplements that I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot!) Bowtrol, has been the best so far, hands down.

I did a 12 week trial documenting my progress with Bowtrol. You can read about my amazing results here.

In the end, choosing to add probiotic supplements to your diet will prove to be a very smart decision – and taking the time to find the best probiotic supplement for you will be an even better one!

Raging Debate: Probiotic Supplements VS Probiotic Foods

January 26th, 2009
This beautiful yogurt parfait is made with Probiotic Yogurt. How do these food-born probiotic strains compare against specialized probiotic supplements? supplements?

This beautiful yogurt parfait is made with Probiotic Yogurt. How do these food-born probiotic strains compare against specialized probiotic supplements? supplements?

Photograph by dags1974 @Flickr

While many think about probiotic food and think yogurt, there is a wide array of food fortified with probiotic bacteria available — and more coming all the time. Most of this food tastes just as good as food without probiotics so many will choose this option, but to truly maximize the benefits of your new health plan, it’s important to know all the facts.

Why choose probiotic enriched foods?

Quite simply, eating a tasty serving of yogurt is a great way to get a good dose of probiotics and is a good addition to your probiotic supplementation. Probiotic food is categorized as anything that contains live probiotic bacteria, which offers a wide variety of health benefits.

Probiotic food began with milk enriched with acidophilus. You can still get this particular variety of probiotic enriched food, but now you are also able to get popular probiotic fortified yogurt as well as many types of cheeses, soups like miso soup, sauerkraut and even pickles. These are a great option for someone that is looking to add probiotic food to their diet and doesn’t want to just stick to dairy products.

Probiotic foods are a great way to reap the benefits of probiotics without having to remember to take pills. That said, probiotic foods may not be for everyone, so let’s explore probiotic supplements.

Why choose probiotic supplements?

For a finicky eater, probiotic foods may not offer the range and selection they usually prefer with their meal options. For these people, a probiotic supplement in pill, capsule, liquid extract or powder form may be a better option. There are a wide variety of options available for probiotics supplements.

For someone just looking for better health overall, a multi-species probiotics supplement would be the way to go. These supplements contain different strains of probiotic bacteria for wide spectrum benefits. If there are two specific benefits you are looking for, you may want to look at duel-species supplements. If there is really only one issue you want to tackle, you would want to choose a single-species supplement.

Which is right for you?

Whether you choose probiotic enriched food or probiotic supplements in pill or powder form will be up to you. You need to consider which option is best for you. Regardless of which you choose, the important thing to remember is that you have made a valuable choice for your health and it’s important to keep making that choice. With the vast number of options available to you, it has never been easier to reap the benefits of this important bacterium.

    • Sick Days Last Month: 0 (Wow! First time all year)

    Bowtrol Probiotic:
    Great or Best Thing Ever?

After 8 weeks, let me just say I LOVE THIS STUFF!

If I was reading this progress report prior to trying Bowtrol Probiotic myself, I would think it was written by the company’s marketing department. It just sounds too good. But this is real.

I’ve suffered from humiliating constipation my entire life and this is the first time I have every experienced daily regularity. Besides a lot less digestive discomfort, I’m really amazed at how much this has changed my life. I’ve learned that when I was constipated, I was literally carrying several extra pounds of weight on me at all times, which was a substantial energy drain. Also, when my bowels were occupied, my body had to exert a lot of energy on maintaining their contents. Now that I’m 100% regular I realized that constipation is exhausting.

As if that weren’t enough, my moods are now much better! I’m the kind of person that gets cranky when I’m tired, so with all of this new energy, I feel great every day! Everyday chores and tasks are less of a burden and I’m able to spend more time rooting on my boys at their soccer games and playing dress up with my 5 year old, Emily.

Top Five Reasons YOU Should Be Taking Probiotic Supplements

      November 20th, 2008

Probiotics. A Gift from the Healing Hand.

Probiotics. A Gift from the Healing Hand.

Although there are many incredible benefits to taking probiotic supplements, you may not know the important improvements probiotics can make in your life. Below, you’ll find the top five reasons everyone should add probiotic supplements to their diet.

      1) Probiotics are Healthy and Safe for Adults and Children

Probiotic supplements have been carefully researched and have been found to have no known side effects. Although they may not be safe for those with terminal diseases or compromised immune systems, healthy adults and children can benefit greatly from these supplements. Even the World Health Organization has recognized the helpful properties probiotics offer the human body.

      2) Probiotics Boost your Vitamins and Minerals

Probiotics have been shown to improve the bioavailability of many essential vitamins and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc to name only a few. This basically means probiotics supplements can heighten the levels of these vitamins and minerals in your body.

If you are on a diet, or generally “eat healthy” this should be a no brainer to take probiotics, because what’s the point of eating all that healthy food if your body doesn’t get the most out of it?

      3) Probiotics Help your Intestines

If you have problems with constipation, diarreah, gas, bloating or other illnesses related to intestinal function, probiotics are a must-have for your diet. Probiotics are basically helpful bacteria. Ingesting probiotic supplements or food enriched with probiotics helps to balance the good and bad bacteria in your intestines and improves how your intestines funcion.

      4) Probiotics Prevent Colon Cancer

Because an imbalance in the bacteria in the intestines is one of the factors that may cause colon cancer, probiotics can in fact help prevent colon cancer. Probiotics give you the best possible level of helpful bacteria in your intestines which works to neutralize the harmful bacteria. Probiotics also work to reduce microflora which is believed to contribute to colon and colorectal cancer.

      5) Probiotics Give your immune system a boost

Probiotics have been shown to regulate lymphocytes and antibodies in the body, which boost your immune system. This means is you will get sick less often and when you do get sick, say with a cold or the flu, you will recover faster and your symptoms will be less severe. A heightened immune system will also help your body fight infection more efficiently.

Why Aren’t You Taking Probiotic Supplements?

Probiotics are safe, natural and incredibly beneficial. Beyond the five benefits listed above, probiotics have been shown to help lactose intolerant people enjoy their favourite dairy products, reduce inflammation in arthritis patients and help ease symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.

As I consider the benefits of probiotic supplements that could have saved my dad’s life from colon caner, it’s clear to me that everyone should add a probiotic supplement to their diet.

      I take probiotics.
      My kids take probiotics.
You should be taking probiotics too

Join me on my 12 week trial. Click the bottle for Bowtrol Probiotic deals!

4 weeks have gone by since I began my Bowtrol Probiotic 12 week trial and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty impressed with the results!

Bowtrol Probiotic Trial : Week 4 Stats

      • Weight: 150 lbs (lost 4 lbs!)
      • Regularity: 1–2 Days (2x as often!)
      • Energy Levels: Medium+ (noticeable increase)
      • Sick Days Last Month: .5 (Slept it right off.)

      Overall Impression After 4 Weeks

Let me just say this, any skepticism that I previously had has gone straight out the window. After I placed my Bowtrol Probiotic order, the 3 bottles arrived neatly packaged in 3 days. I even had a question and I was pleased to find that they had a real customer service team that was very helpful.

      Effectiveness of Bowtrol Probiotic

I’m thrilled to say that in the past 4 weeks, I’ve lost 4 pounds without changing my diet at all and doing a little bit of walking! In addition, I find it substantially easier to wake up in the mornings and I don’t get tired nearly as quickly. Best of all, as a chronic constipation sufferer over my entire life, I’ve achieved almost daily regularity!

Plus, with all the “healthy” bacteria in my system, I feel like I’m actually getting sick less! Usually, I get some kind of bug every month that lasts a few days. Both my sons  play soccer and after rooting from the cold bleachers for a few hours, I often find myself coughing and sneezing for the next few days. This month, I felt that way after one of the soccer games, but I just came home and slept it off and I felt great the next morning! I’m not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but I will keep an eye on it and report back because getting sick is a real pain when you have 3 kids and a job to worry about.

Week 4 Satisfaction Level: Strong Recommendation

If you’re want to try a probiotic supplement to achieve digestive regularity, or any of the other health benefits I described above, I would strongly recommend you give Bowtrol Probiotic a shot. Before Bowtrol, I always stuck to the local health store supplements, but the effectiveness of Bowtrol Probiotic is incomparable.

I’ve already been hearing great things from others that have decided to join me on my 12 week trial! If you haven’t yet, here’s a a $10 discount on a 3 month supply. Plus, there is a 100% money back guarantee and they have great customer service if you’re less than thrilled. Regardless, you’ll never know until you try for yourself.

Get yours and share you experience with us here!

How Probiotics Can Save Your Life (from Colon Cancer!)

        October 15th, 2008
Probiotic Supplements may be the silver bullet against Colon Cancer.

Probiotic Supplements may be the silver bullet against Colon Cancer.

What are probiotics and what do they do?

Probiotics are living micro-organisms, or bacteria, that have been shown to have tremendous health benefits when taken either in enriched foods or supplements. Some of these benefits include helping digestive problems, providing relief from intestinal disorder, boosting the body’s immune system and have even been linked to the possible prevention of colon cancer.

Probiotics are most effective because they help balance the good and bad bacteria naturally found in the intestines. This is how they are so helpful for relieving gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and the pain and cramps associated with all of these afflictions. This is also the same reason they are believed to be an important preventative measure for colon cancer.

What does science say about Probiotics & Colon Cancer?

While, there is no evidence that taking probiotic supplements prevents the growth of cancer cells directly, the benefits they create in the human body suggest that probiotic supplements are ideal for colon cancer prevention.

It has been shown that certain probiotic bacteria minimize the appearance of the harmful bacteria that occurs in the colon. Much of this harmful bacteria has been linked to the growth of cancer cells or mutation of healthy cells in the colon. Probiotics have been shown to inhibit the levels of this bacteria in the colon and even neutralize it, which has obvious benefits for preventing colon cancer.

Probiotics also promote a healthier digestive system, helping the body more effectively break down fat. There are many chemicals and harmful bacteria in this fat that have been shown to have a direct link to causing cancer. When the body is not properly balanced, harmful chemicals are released into the digestive system when it tries to break down these foods. Probiotic strains attack these chemicals and neutralize them, helping to ward off their potentially cancer causing effects.

Should You  Take Probiotics to Help Prevent Colon Cancer?

According to the American Cancer Society, there are an estimated 112, 000 new cases of colon cancer diagnosed every year and some of the main known causes of colon cancer are found in something most of us consume every single day — cooked meat. For that reason, it’s vitally important to do everything you can to prevent colon cancer. Probiotics are a great first step in the right direction.

To date, the only probiotic supplements that I’ve purchased have been at local specialty shops and health food stores. I’m just skeptical about purchasing a probiotic supplement online without being able to speak to a knowledgeable sales clerk. However, there is 1 name that I keep hearing over and over, Bowtrol Probiotic. People have told me that Bowtrol is substantially more effective than the supplements they’ve tried at local stores, and the company has been around since 1996, so its not like one of the scammy online supplement offers.

Anyway, I just put in an order for a 3 month supply ($10 discount!), so I will be keeping you all updated on my progress. If it really does help as much with regularity, energy levels, and and general health as I’ve heard, I will definitely be recommending it to the rest of my large, digestively troubled Irish family!

Five Important Thing You Need to Know Before Taking Probiotics

        September 10th, 2008

380896801 fde3fa1f70 Five Important Thing You Need to Know Before Taking ProbioticsIts 7 pm, and this is what you had for dinner. Did you take your probiotics today?
        Photographer: Beth Rankin @Flickr

Probiotic supplements are a great option for someone looking to improve over all health, boost their immune system, help ease the pain and bloating associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or target many other specific health concerns. Regardless,  there are five basic things you need to know about probiotics supplements before you begin to take them.

5: Probiotic Supplements are Recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

Dedicated to ensuring the health of both developed and developing countries, the WHO and FAO both not only verify the nutritional value of probiotics, but also recommend them, agreeing with the researchers who have found significant and diverse health benefits in probiotics

        .

        4: How Probiotics Work

Before taking any sort of dietary supplement, it’s important to understand how they work. Probiotics work by inhibiting toxin producing bacteria and other pathogens that create all sorts of trouble for the human body. They are effective because they improve microbial balance in the intestines which is why they are able to slow down toxins.

3: Different Probiotic Strains Mean Different Results

There are different strains of probiotic cultures which all target different health issues. Before you choose, make sure you know which probiotic supplements the issue you want to tackle. For overall improved health, choose a multi-probiotics supplement as these contain many different strains and help with all areas of health which can be helped by these probiotics.

2: You Have a Choice — Supplements or Foods Fortified with Probiotics

It’s important to know probiotic supplements are not the only way to go. You can choose to go with dairy products that are fortified with probiotics such as milk or yogurt. Most people do prefer the supplements because this freeze dried option means they can take their probiotics supplement in pill, powder or capsule form. The best probiotic supplement for you will depend on your personal preference.

        1: Who Should Probiotic Supplements

Probiotics are safe for almost everyone, including kids & children (check the label first). You may want to discuss your health situation with your doctor before you decide to take probiotics. Although probiotics are very safe and there is virtually no risk involved, anyone with a compromised immune system, is already ill or has a terminal illness should not take probiotics due to the possibility of developing lactobacillus septicaemia.

        A Final Word on Probiotics

Probiotics are a great tool to utilize to achieve better health. You will be reaping the benefits of probiotic supplements for years to come! If you have any other crucial information or experiences to contribute, let me know in the comments below!
